Q1: Where should cards, flowers and gifts be sent?*

Q2: What are the COVID-19 protocols?*  

Following state (Maryland) and national guidelines, we are following recommended COVID-19 protocols to ensure the safety and comfort of all attendees. While masks are not required, they are encouraged and available at the church entrances. Simply ask an Usher or a member of the Ministry of Helps, and they will provide one for you. Hand sanitizers are available throughout the church. Also, microphones used during the service are sanitized weekly and disinfected between uses. Your well-being is important to us, and we appreciate your cooperation in creating a safe environment for everyone.


Q3: Where will clergy and service participants gather to greet the family and prepare for the processional? 

Service participants should check in at the security desk, where you will be escorted to the 3rd floor conference room. Clergy will gather in Coker Hall to robe and prepare to organize for the processional,and greet the family. Further instructions will be provided on-site to ensure a smooth and respectful transition into the service. Please arrive promptly to allow time for preparation.


Q4: Where can clergy store items?

Clergy can store robes on the provided racks on the stage area on the second floor in Coker Hall. However, we ask that you travel light. Unfortunately, there is no dedicated storage for personal items. We want to ensure that belongings are not misplaced or mistakenly removed. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.




Q5: Will there be a Mass Choir? How can I participate?  

Yes, there will be a Mass Choir. Rehearsal is set for Thursday, October 3, 2024, at Bethel AME Church -1300 Druid Hill Ave, BMore 21217 at 7:00pm. Those wishing to participate must attend this rehearsal, or be accounted for by the ministers of music for this event as space in the choir stand is limited. Only those present at the rehearsal will be cleared to join the choir at the Homegoing service. For questions, please contact **JStrong@Bethel1.org**.




Q6: What are the parking arrangements?

For parking, please refer to the event parking map, which highlights designated open, reserved, and handicap parking areas. VIP parking is reserved for Bishops, Episcopal Supervisors, General Officers, and Connectional Officers. If you have yet to be contacted directly - please email **info@Bethel1.org. Limited handicap parking is also available, and assistance is available for those needing handicap accessibility.

 

Q7: What about security?

To ensure everyone's safety, we will have an increased professional security presence throughout the event. Security personnel will patrol the grounds, and our team will be available to walk attendees to and from their vehicles. Ab Shuttle will also be provided from outlying parking areas to the church.



Q8: Is there special or reserved seating?

Special seating is reserved for Bishops, Episcopal Supervisors, General Officers, Connectional Officers, and program participants. We recommend arriving early, as doors will open at 9 AM. Overflow seating will be available in Coker Hall and Brooks Chapel, with live streaming for viewing.




Q9: Will the service be live-streamed?  

Yes, the Homegoing service will be live-streamed. You can watch it on our website at www.Bethel1.org on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/@BethelAMEChurchBaltimoreMD, or on Facebook Live at https://www.facebook.com/BethelAMEBaltimore 




**Q10: Will there be a repast?**  

Bethel AME Church will not be hosting a repast following the Homegoing service.

Please note that while no blocks of rooms have been reserved and no special group rates are available, we offer these hotel suggestions to assist in your search. Bethel is not responsible for rate changes, availability, or the booking process. Additionally, while ground transportation is not provided by Bethel, ride-share services such as Uber and Lyft are frequently used by guests. This information is provided as a helpful resource, and we assume no responsibility for individual arrangements.
