DANIEL PAYNE

Established in 1975, the Daniel Payne Scholarship Ministry at Bethel AME Church has spent nearly five decades investing in the academic success of its students. Founded by Bishop John R. Bryant in honor of Bishop Daniel A. Payne, the ministry was created to support first-year college students with both financial assistance and encouragement. From its humble beginnings with a $50 book scholarship, the ministry has grown to award more than $1 million, empowering generations of scholars to pursue higher education with confidence.

The mission of the Daniel Payne Scholarship is to enrich and encourage students to reach their full potential academically and to provide financial assistance to deserving high school graduates, college and university undergraduates and graduate students of Bethel A.M.E. Church for the upcoming academic year.

The Bethel Daniel Payne Scholarship Ministry encourages all Bethel youth (grades 10 – 12) and parents to register with the Daniel Payne Scholarship Ministry by completing the registration form. We are pleased to sow into the lives of young people and this is another way to offer Healing, Help, and Hope to our younger generation. We help our students prepare to advance their education through seminars and workshops on financial planning, interviewing tips, dressing for success, selecting your college or university and much more.
